MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (November 5, 2020) – The Webber International University women's soccer team kicked off its stretch of back-to-back road matches to finish off the 2020 regular season with a 4-0 loss at St. Thomas University on Thursday night at the STU Soccer Field.
The Warriors surrendered three goals in the first half, one of which was off a free kick and another which was via a penalty kick, and were held without a shot for the entire match.
Webber also only had one corner kick try in the match, coming from
Bianca Meraz in the 59th minute.
With only one match remaining in the regular season for the Warriors, Webber fell to 4-7-1 overall and 2-7-0 in The Sun Conference. St. Thomas, meanwhile, snapped its four-match losing streak to finish up its respective regular-season with an overall record of 5-5 and a mark of 4-5 in conference play.
Webber's final regular-season match of 2020 before The Sun Conference Tournament will be a tough contest at No. 4 Southeastern University at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, in Lakeland, Florida. Then, the annual TSC Women's Soccer tournament is currently scheduled to begin on Saturday, November 14, with the quarterfinal round.
