Women’s volleyball drops home finale against Coastal Georgia

BABSON PARK, Fla. (November 4, 2020) – The Webber International University women's volleyball team played its final home match of the 2020 season on Wednesday night inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center, falling 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 27-25) against the College of Coastal Georgia Mariners.

Playing for the final time on their home court, senior Svenja Koenig had four blocks and three kills while fellow-senior Julia Ferraro also finished with three kills.

Madelyn Glouner led the Warriors in kills with seven while Kiersten Tisdale had 16 digs. Meanwhile, Amanda Vega finished with 15 assists and 11 digs for her third double-double of the season.

Webber hit -0.32 percent in the first set and .000 percent in the second before hitting .172 percent in the third. The Warriors then nearly earned a win in the third set as a kill by Glouner made it 24-23 Webber. Another kill by Glouner made it 25-25 before a kill by the Mariners followed by a Warrior attack error ended the evening.

With only one match remaining in the regular season for the Warriors, Webber fell to 4-9 overall and 2-8 in The Sun Conference while Coastal Georgia finished up its respective regular season with an overall record of 12-5 and a mark of 8-5 in conference play.

Webber's final regular-season match of 2020 before The Sun Conference Tournament will come on the road at Ave Maria University at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 7. Then, the annual TSC Women's Volleyball Tournament is currently scheduled to begin on Friday, November 13 with the first round.
