BABSON PARK, Fla. (October 13, 2020) – Riding a two-match winning streak in conference play, the Webber International University men's soccer will host nationally-recognized Southeastern University tomorrow on Wednesday, October 14, in what has been selected as The Sun Conference's Men's Soccer Game of the Week. The match between the Warriors and the Fire, which will be the first action for both teams since October 3, is set for 3:30 p.m. on the Warrior Grass Field.

Webber (3-4 overall, 2-3 TSC) defeated Ave Maria University by a score of 3-1 and then shutout Crooked Lake rival Warner University 2-0 two weeks ago before their match last week against Florida Memorial University was postponed.

With four goals during the week of Webber's two wins over Ave Maria and Warner, including a hat trick against the Gyrenes, senior David Negrin Ruiz was named both The Sun Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week.

Negrin Ruiz leads Webber with five goals and 11 shots on goal while senior goalkeeper Alex Marciulonis leads the team with 22 saves.

Southeastern, meanwhile, will enter the matchup 5-2 overall and 3-2 in conference play. The Fire are coming off a 2-0 victory over Ave Maria 10 days ago.

The last time Webber and Southeastern met was earlier this season on September 16 when the Fire came away with a 4-1 victory in Lakeland, Florida. As a team, the Fire held the Warriors to just eight shots compared to their 18.

Webber's Head Men's Soccer Coach Neil Cockburn said, "The team and myself are really looking forward to the Southeastern game on Wednesday. Southeastern is having a good season, and we have improved a lot in the last couple of weeks. It will be interesting to see how the game plays outs tomorrow."
