Babson Park, FL. — The Webber International Men's Soccer team delivered late heroics on Wednesday, with Jose Dlima burying the winner at 89:23 off a square ball from Davide Poledda to beat Ave Maria, 2–1, in a SUN Conference matchup. Jesus Perez opened the scoring just 10 minutes into the second half, and after the Gyrenes equalized from the spot, the Warriors found a last-minute answer to snap the deadlock.
Chances came in spurts for Webber in the first half, highlighted by Jack Chalmers testing the back line with multiple efforts and Jose Dlima forcing an early save. Keeper Alvaro Garcia kept it level with two stops, and the Warriors absorbed eight fouls from AMU while keeping the visitors off the board through 45.
In the second half, Perez broke through at 55:15—a driven finish that gave Webber a deserved lead. Ave Maria answered at 77:20 on a Sava Cadjenovic penalty to make it 1–1. A frenetic final stretch saw simultaneous reds at 82:48 (both sides reduced to 10), before Webber's composure told: Poledda slipped a late feed across the box and Dlima lashed home the match-winner with 37 seconds left in regulation. Garcia sealed it with two more late saves.
