BABSON PARK, Fla. (September 27, 2019) – Webber International University Athletics is set for a busy Saturday on September 28 with the men's soccer, women's soccer and women's volleyball programs all at home and two other programs on the road.
- The fun begins with Webber women's soccer hosting the No. 1 team in the NAIA, Keiser University, at 11 a.m. on the Warrior Soccer Field. The Warriors are currently 3-1-1 overall and 0-1 in The Sun Conference as Saturday's matchup will also be the first TSC match at home for the Warriors in 2019. Keiser, meanwhile, is 7-1 overall with wins over the No. 6, No. 17 and No. 23 ranked teams in the NAIA at the time, and has yet to play a conference match in 2019. The Seahawks only loss so far has come by a close 2-1 score in overtime against William Carey University, which at the time was also ranked No. 1 in the country. The Warriors have not beaten Keiser since the 2012 season.
- Following the women's soccer match, the Webber men's soccer team, which is also seeking its first conference win of the season, will host SCAD Savannah at 1:30 p.m. Webber is currently 5-2 overall and 0-1 in The Sun Conference while SCAD is 3-2 overall and 1-0 in conference.
- Last but not least, the third and final home event of the day for Webber will be women's volleyball hosting TSC foe St. Thomas University at 5 p.m. inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center. After a 3-0 sweep over Florida College its last time out on Tuesday, September 24, Webber is now 5-6 overall and 1-3 in The Sun Conference in 2019. St. Thomas is 5-8 overall and 2-3 in TSC matches. After beating St. Thomas in the 2017 Sun Conference Tournament Championship match and then beating them twice last year, the Warriors will be looking to keep their current four-match winning streak against the Bobcats going.
In addition to the home contests on Saturday, both the Webber tennis and bowling programs will be competing elsewhere.
- The Webber men's and women's tennis teams will be finishing up competition at the 2019 ITA Regional Championship at the Proworld Tennis Academy in Delray Beach, Florida.
- The Webber men's and women's bowling teams, meanwhile, will start their first tournament of the 2019-20 season with the SCAD Collegiate Shootout on Saturday and Sunday at AMF Savannah Lanes in Savannah, Georgia. At last year's SCAD Shootout, the Webber men's bowling team claimed first place after a ninth and tenth frame roll-off while the Webber women's team took second place and the Webber JV one team defeated its own JV two team by one pin to win the junior varsity title.
- On Sunday, September 29, junior varsity men's soccer will be hosting a round robin with Keiser University and St. Thomas University. The Warriors begin by battling Keiser at 11 a.m., followed by a match between Keiser and Thomas at 12:20 p.m. and then the final match between Webber and Thomas at 1:40 p.m.
- Also on Sunday, the newly formed Webber men's lacrosse program will hold its first Prospect Camp from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on the new Warrior Turf Field. It will be a great chance for future Warriors to show what they can do while also experiencing what Webber has to offer.
