Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men’s basketball falls by 20 against Bobcats

BABSON PARK, Fla. (February 9, 2019) – The Webber International University men's basketball team led 30-27 at halftime but fell apart with a rough second half against St. Thomas University. In the end, Webber fell by 20, 71-51, on Saturday inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center.

The Warriors shot only 28.6 percent (8-28) from the field and only 10 percent from three (1-10) during the second half while St. Thomas shot 53.1 percent themselves over the final 20 minutes. Webber was outscored 44-21 in the period.

Tommie Luke scored 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting with three steals. It was Luke's fourth straight outing with 21 or more points.

Next for Webber was Kevin Grace recording his first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. It was a career-high in boards for the transfer junior from Port St. Lucie, Florida, while his two blocks were also a career-high.

Webber led for over 16 and a half minutes of the first half and led by as much as eight (24-16) with 6:50 left to go before halftime. That script, however, completely flipped in the second half as the Warriors led for less than two minutes of the period.

Webber fell to 12-16 overall and 3-13 in The Sun Conference with two games remaining on the schedule. St. Thomas, meanwhile, improved to 11-13 and 10-6.

The Warriors will now attempt to get a win on Senior Night on Thursday, February 14 (Valentine's Day), at 7:30 p.m. against Johnson & Wales University, which only has two wins on the season.
