HARDEEVILLE, S.C. (October 26, 2019) – The Webber International University women's soccer team dropped a 7-0 decision on the road at SCAD Savannah on Saturday during the Bee's Senior Day at the SCAD Athletics Complex.
Webber (6-6-1 overall, 2-6 The Sun Conference), which has already surpassed its number of wins from a year ago during its first season under Head Coach
Brian Fallon, gave up three goals in the first half and four in the second while being held to only one corner kick, one shot on goal and five shots in total.
SCAC (8-5-1, 5-2-1), meanwhile, was benefited by an own goal by the Warriors to start the scoring in the 14th minute.
The lone shot on goal from the Webber offense came from
Charlee Lutton in the 79th minute while Webber's other shots came from
Angelina Conde,
Megan Warner,
Hannah Vigotty and
Emilie Velez.
"It was obviously a tough day for Webber women's soccer," spoke Coach Fallon. "We just did not play that well, but certainly there were things that we identified that we want to work on throughout the rest of the year that we can improve on to help make us a postseason team in the future."
Webber's next match will be its final home contest of the 2019 season as the Warriors host the University of South Carolina Beaufort at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, in Babson Park, Florida.
