ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (August 30, 2018) – After a strong performance in its season-opening 3-1 victory over Faulkner University last Saturday, the Webber women's International University women's soccer team was unable to keep its momentum going and fell in disappointing fashion with a 9-0 decision against NCAA Division-II Eckerd College.

After stopping six shots in the season opener, freshman goalkeeper Summer Simpson finished with eight saves on Thursday as Eckerd (1-0) fired 31 total shots and 17 shots on goal.

Webber's (1-1) only shot takers on the match were sophomore Isabella Aviolla and freshman Sidney Usina.

The Warriors will have a week off from action to prepare for their next matchup as Webber will play at home on Warrior Field for the first time during the Brian Fallon era, hosting Florida National University at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 6.
