ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (April 25, 2018) – The Webber International University baseball team dropped its 2018 road finale with a 3-0 loss to NCAA Division-II Eckerd College on Wednesday evening at the Turley Athletic Complex.

Seniors Manny Rodriguez and Chris Medina each finished with two hits apiece from the top two spots in the lineup while Marcus Begg added another hit from the third spot in the order. It was the 13th consecutive game with a hit for Medina, and it was also his 10th multi-hit game over the same stretch.

Starter Tanner White (4-1) threw six innings from the mound, holding the Tritons to one run on five hits while both striking out and walking three batters. It was the fifth time in nine starts this season White has pitched at least six innings while giving up two runs or less.

Eckerd scored the first run of the ballgame with a two-out single down the left field line in the first inning.

Webber fell to 31-20 on the year while Eckerd rose to 21-21.

For Senior Night on Friday, April 27, the Warriors will host Eckerd at 6 p.m. on the Heart of Florida Field in what will also be their final regular-season contest of 2018. Free pizza will be provided for Webber students at 5:30 p.m.
