SYLVANIA, Ohio. (February 23, 2018) – The Webber International University men's volleyball team dropped its first two matches of the Gray Wolf Invitational, falling 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-16) to No. 9 Clarke University in the morning before coming back in the evening and losing 3-0 (25-20, 25-13, 25-14) to the University of California, Merced.
Against Clarke, the first nationally ranked opponent of the season for Webber (2-4),
Liam Gilchrist finished with seven kills while
Kyle Robertson had 16 assists,
Chris Ludwig had 11 digs, and both
Justin Beecher and
Cesar Remedios had three blocks.
Against the University of California, Merced,
Zachary Ayala led the Warriors with eight kills while Robertson dished 17 assists, Ludwig again led in digs with six, and Beecher again had three blocks.
Tomorrow at the Gray Wolf Invitational, Webber will face two more nationally ranked opponents in No. 10 Lourdes University (12:30 p.m.) and No. 8 Cardinal Stritch University (8 p.m.) on Saturday, February 24.
