Box Score FORT MYERS, Fla. – After falling to Fire last night 6-9, the Warriors faced Thomas University at 11:00 A.M. and sent them packing with a final score of 8-5 and a Webber victory.
GAME NOTES: Warriors Break University Single Season Win Record, Martis Extends Hit Streak To 14, Piatt Knocks In 3 RBI's, Mintell Threw 6 Solid Innings Winning His 5th, Gary Picks Up 6th Save
The Warriors revived themselves in the TSC tournament with a 14 hit, 8-5 victory over the NightHawks. Falling quickly to a 0-1 deficit off a solo homerun from the Nighthawks centerfielder in the bottom of the 1
st inning, Webber collected 6 runs over the 2
nd, 3
rd, and 4
th innings to take a 6-1 lead.
Connor Clayton started things off as he scored on a wild pitch in the top of the 2
nd inning. A
Matt Piatt single into right field would score
Manny Rodriguez in the top of the 3
rd. Immediately following Piatt,
Connor Clayton rifled a double into right center that scored
Matt Piatt and
Sjaghbar Martis. In the top of the 4
th,
Matt Piatt hit a sharp grounder to Shortstop that was booted and allowed
Manny Rodriguez to score yet again. The NightHawks put together a scary 6
th, 7
th and 8
th innings as they cut into the lead trailing the Warriors 6-5.
Matt Piatt again put the bat to work in the top of the 9
th inning shooting a single into right field scoring
Manny Rodriguez for the 3
rd time.
Sjaghbar Martis then stole home solidifying the 8-5 victory for the Warriors.

th win. The record was held by the alumni team of 2003, that finished with a 37-19 overall record. The 2017 Warriors move to 38-14 on the season. In the win,
Sjaghbar Martis extends his hitting streak to 14 straight games. In the 14 games he is 24-63, hitting .380.
