Box Score 3 LAKELAND, Fla. - #15 Webber International (36-12, 16-8) took on #11 Southeastern (42-8, TSC 18-6) in the final Sun Conference series of the year. The Warriors took game 1, 7-5. Then went on to lose both games of the double header this afternoon 3-6, 4-9.
GAME 1: Martis Homers, Clayton Hits Eventual Game Winning 3-run Double, All Despite 18 Strikeouts
The Warriors were held to just 5 hits and had an astounding 18 strikeouts, but that did not stop them from taking game 1. Webber jumped out to a 1-0 lead following the top of the 1
st inning with
Manny Rodriguez scampering in on a wild pitch. With a 1-1 tie in the top of the 2
nd,
Sjaghbar Martis connected with a solo blast that gave the Warriors the lead 2-1. Into the top of the 8
th inning, the Warriors trailed 2-4.
Matt Piatt shot a base hit into left field that scored
Cristian Rivera. Then
Jesse Coleman stepped up with bases loaded and drew a walk scoring
Marcus Begg. Immediately following,
Connor Clayton laced a 3-run double off the wall in left field that scored
Jesse Coleman,
Sjaghbar Martis and
Matt Piatt. The Fire scored 1-run in the bottom of the 8
th, but it was not enough as the Warriors held the lead and took game 1 with a final score of 7-5.

Connor Clayton stepped up and smashed a 2-run shot out to left center field that scored
Matt Piatt, cutting the lead to 2-3. Trailing 2-6 in the top of the 8
th,
Marcus Begg got the Warriors 1-run closer as hit a base hit to right field that scored
Sjaghbar Martis. Unfortunately the Warriors were unable to mount a comeback as they dropped game 2, 3-6.

rd place. They have one regular season game left as they travel on Wednesday to Embry-Riddle to take on the NCAA D-II foe in a non-conference matchup.
