Box Score 2 BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International softball defeated the NCAA D-II Chestnut Hill College Griffins today 4-1 then 3-2.
GAME 1: Spurgeon Throws 2 Hit Complete Game, Isoba Extends Hitting Streak To 7
The Griffins were the first to score plating a run in the top of the 1
st inning. The Warriors opened up in the bottom of the 3
rd as
Laura Borders doubled to right center scoring
Ka'Deisha McCowen. In the bottom of the 4
th inning,
Alyssa Householder stepped up with bases loaded and shot a single into left field that scored Kaitlyn Cockroft and the Warriors took the lead 2-1. In the Bottom of the 6
th, the Warriors sealed the deal tacking on 2 more runs off the bats of Borders and
Megan Isoba winning the game 4-1.
STAT LINE:
Naomi Spurgeon threw an outstanding 7 innings holding the NCAA D-II opponents to only 2 hits while striking out 4.
Megan Isoba extended her hitting streak to 7 games. The Warriors out hit the Griffins 12-2.

GAME 2: White Throws Complete Game For Win, Borders and Isoba Reach Bases For 8
th Straight Game
It was a quiet game until the bottom of the 4
th inning when
Laura Borders singled into left field and
Ka'Deisha McCowen scored, Householder attempted to advance but was gunned out at the plate by the Griffins left fielder.
Raven White was on the mound for the Warriors and struggled for just a moment in the 6
th inning as she walked in a run to tie the game at 1-1. The top of the 7
th got scary for the Warriors as the Griffins took advantage of an error and took the lead 2-1.
Victoria Atkinson led off the inning with a deep fly ball that was miss-played by the right fielder and allowed her to advance to second base. Then with 2 outs, bottom of the 7
th, tying run at 3
rd base, every player's dream,
Cassidy Roberts came to the plate. She smoked a ball back up the middle for a base hit that scored Atkinson tying the game. McCowen was next up and singled into left field advancing Roberts to second base. Then, Householder shot a line drive to left field that tipped off the glove of the left fielder and rolled to the fence scoring Roberts and winning the game in Walk Off fashion.
STAT LINE: Raven White threw a complete game for the Warriors only surrendering 7 hits, 2 runs and striking out 3 and earning the win.
Megan Isoba extended her hit streak to 8 games as she went 1-3.
Laura Borders has reached base in all 8 games and now leads The Sun Conference in batting average with .526.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Webber is 4-0 against Chestnut Hill in the two school's history. The Warriors will have the week off before returning to the field against St. Thomas University for the Sun Conference opener at home. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Friday March 10
th.
