Box Score 2 BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International played games 2 and 3 of the first Sun Conference series of the year today. Unfortunately for the Warriors they dropped both moving to 0-3 in the TSC.
GAME 2: Hazen and Roberts Homer, White Shuts Down Bobcats After First Two Innings, Isoba Hitting Streak To 10 Straight
Pitching yet again seemed to plague the Warriors as they gave up 13 hits and 6 runs in game 2. The Bobcats jumped out to an early 6 run lead after the 2
nd inning.
Brandi Hazen stepped up with
Ka'Deisha McCowen on base and blasted a hard line drive homerun over the right field fence. With the score 6-2 in favor of the Bobcats, nothing would happen until the bottom of the 7
th.
Cassidy Roberts got ahold of a pitch and hit her first career homerun out to left center scoring Kaitlyn Cockroft. That cut the lead to 2, but were unable to get anymore across as they dropped game 2, 6-4.
GAME 3: Borders and Householder Homer
The Warriors hit 2 more homeruns in game 3. A solo shot by
Laura Borders and a 2 run homerun by
Alyssa Householder. The Warriors were able to plate 6 runs off 7 hits, but yet again, Webber pitchers struggled as the Bobcats ran up their hits to 15. In the 5
th inning,
Cassidy Roberts singled to left center scoring
Sarah McKinney and cutting the lead 7-6 in favor of the Bobcats. St. Thomas added 1 more run in the top of the 6
th and would hold of the Warriors 8-6 sweeping the series.
STAT LINE: Webber International hit 8 homeruns in the series.
Megan Isoba extended her hitting streak to 10 straight games before in the last game of the series going 0-3 with a walk. She has still successfully reached base in every game this season. Webber pitching struggled allowing 37 hits in the 3 games.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Webber International will receive tomorrow off before taking on Grandview College in a double header at home with the first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
