Box Score WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.—Women's basketball traveled south last night to take on Sun Conference foe Keiser University. After jumping out to a strong start, the Lady Warriors fell to the Seahawks 62-71. This moves Webber to 6-17 overall and 2-10 TSC.
The Lady Warriors had three players in double digits in points for the night,
Shayla McPhearson with 13,
Jessica Colson with 12, and
Jakia Davis with 10. McPhearson also led the team in rebounds with 7 and
Quanthavia Stalworth added 6 rebounds of her own, as well as 9 points.
The game was hard fought by both teams with 2 score ties and 8 lead changes throughout. The Lady Warriors quickly jumped out with a 12-6 scoring run in the first few minutes of the game. The 1
st quarter ended with the teams tied at 17. The 2
nd quarter was a battle back and forth that ended with the Seahawks coming out on top 34-27 to go into halftime. The Lady Warriors stuck with the Seahawks all throughout the 3
rd quarter despite having to fight back from a 10-point deficit at the beginning of the quarter. The 4
th quarter began with the Lady Warriors trailing by 5 points, 48-53. Keiser continued to extend that small lead in the 4
th, ending the game 62-71.
Webber will return to action on Saturday February 4
th, when they travel to North Miami, Florida to take on TSC opponent Johnson & Wales University. The game is set to start at 2 pm. Live video will be provided by JWU and can be found
