Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla. – The anxiously awaited start to the 2017 softball season has arrived. The #11 Webber International University Warriors traveled to Clermont, Fla. and took on Middle Georgia State University and Point Park University. The lady Warriors first defeated MGSU 8-2 then immediately following, they defeated Point Park with last inning heroics 11-3.
GAME 1
The lady Warriors were able to outlast the MGSU Knights 8-2.

Megan Isoba,
Laura Borders,
Brandi Hazen and
Ka'Deisha McCowen all registered multi-hits in the game. With an 11 hit outing to open the year, the Warriors secured the win.
Starting on the mound and throwing a complete 7 innings for Webber was
Naomi Spurgeon. She only allowed 7 hits throughout the contest giving up 2 runs, walking 1 and striking out 2. She moves to 1-0 to begin the year.
GAME 2
The second game of the day was against the Point Park University Pioneers. The Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the 3
rd inning off doubles by
Megan Isoba and
Laura Borders. However, it was short lived as the Pioneer's struck back in the bottom of the 3
rd 4
th and 5
th innings tying the game at 3-3.
Chasing extra inning dreams, the lady Warriors bats came alive in the top of the 8
th inning. They strung together 11 hits and 8 runs with doubles by Isoba and Borders again and 9 singles put together by a host of Warriors.
Pitching for the Warriors and receiving the win was
Sabrina Hebding. She threw 6 solid innings giving up 9 hits and 3 runs while striking out 2. Coming in for relief and earning herself the save was
Raven White. White pitched 2 innings surrendering no hits and striking out 2.
The lady Warriors are back in action on Wednesday March 1
st against Calumet College of St. Joseph in a double header located at Webber International. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
