Lady Warriors Reign Over Lady Royals 3-1

Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Webber International University volleyball team took on the Warner University Royals today in the rivalry of Crooked Lake. Both student sections showed up and made the game the true rivalry that it is. Entering the game, Webber brought in a 12-1 record with an 18 set win streak that tallied 6 straight sweeps of opponents.
 
The Warriors got off to a great start as they jumped out to a 7-1 lead right off the bat. Eventually they took the first set 25-20. The second set snapped the Warriors 19 set win streak as the Royals had a 9 out of 11 point run and would eventually take the match 23-25. The third set was point for point until half way through the Warriors went on an 8-2 run that would eventually lead to a 25-19 win. The fourth match was neck and neck the entire way and found Webber on top at the end 25-20.
 
Nikki McDaniel had a double double by putting up 19 kills and 11 digs for the Warriors. Tessa Colden broke out with a double double as she had 17 kills and 20 digs. Carlee Baxter continued to play her game as she put up a double double with a whopping 53 assists and also found the time to manage 25 digs. Other notables were Jade Carline and Katie Schueman as they both brought 8 kills to the table. The Sun Conference Defender of the week last week, Michelle Calderon, also added 16 digs to her totals.
 
For the Royals, Adrienne Czaplewski, had a monstrous 28 kills and 13 digs on the night. Kiara Riveraescudero had 44 assists and 14 digs.
 
The Warriors now move to 13-1 on the season and 5-0 in the Sun Conference and keep their 1st place lead. They continue their 4 games in a row road trip tonight against Florida College, Friday night against Florida National University, and cap off the trip with a Sun Conference matchup against Johnson & Wales University in Miami, Fla. @ 2 p.m. Go Warriors!!!
