Men’s Soccer Defeats Faulkner 2-0

Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors men's soccer team triumphed over Faulkner today as they scored two in the second half to win 2-0.
 
The first half was extremely well fought by both teams. It was back and forth with good defense on both sides. The second half opened up in an offensive blast from both teams. The Warriors finished with 15 shots and the Eagles finished 17.  In the 53rd minute, the Warriors broke loose as Driss Baraket knocked in a deflected shot and scored the first goal making it 1-0 Warriors. Webber found themselves with 6 yellow cards in the match, but it was the Eagles 1 yellowcard that gave the Warriors their second goal. The yellowcard was issued inside the 18 setting up Reiss Liggit for a penalty kick. He smacked it through in the upper right hand 90 of the goal. The Warriors held their lead and won 2-0.
 
Randy Chesson, the Goalkeeper for the Warriors, had 9 saves on 17 shots, giving him the credit for the shutout and delivering the Eagles only their second loss in 7 games.
 
The Warriors now shift their focus to their Sun Conference opener against Johnson and Wales University Wednesday the 21st at 3:30 p.m. located in Babson Park, Fla. at Warriors Field. Go Warriors!!!
