Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. - Webber International University Baseball triumphed over #19 Keiser University last night by defeating the Seahawks 10-1.
The Warriors combination both on the mound and at the plate was clear that they would not be stopped. Seven pitchers would see the mound for the Warriors in a whole staff performance that would only surrender two hits to the visiting #19 Seahawks in the 9 inning contest.
Daniel Timmons came away with the win for the Warriors, moving him to 2-0 on the season. "Timmons threw the ball great and got the job done" said Warriors pitching coach
Jay Culver.
The Warriors put up 10 runs as a part of an offensive onslaught that would lead to the eventual victory. In the bottom of the 1st inning,
Lenin Sanchez Doubled to left and scored
Jordan Thomas to notch the first run of many. Later in the inning,
Taylor Layner would follow suit by shooting a double into the left center gap, scoring
Sjaghbar Martis and
Lenin Sanchez.
Mike Castilla, was not to be out done as he also would double to right center scoring Layner. The Warriors were jump started into a 4-0 lead at the end of the 1st inning. In the bottom of the 2nd the Warriors added one more run when Sanchez singled to left scoring Thomas.
The lone run for the Seahawks came in the 5th inning, when Carlos Lopez connected for a homerun off of Warriors pitcher
Bo Dewitz.
The show continued in the 6th inning for the Warriors, when
Brett Kaminski doubled to right scoring
Garrett Martin and
Taylor Layner. In the bottom of the 7th the Warriors tacked on three more runs off of the bats of
Mike Castilla,
Jake Frisosky and
Daniel Aviles.
With this win, the Warriors extend the steak to 4 in a row and 7-1 in the last 8 games. The Warriors continue on Friday April 8th against the South Carolina Beaufort Sand Sharks. Go Warriors!!!
