Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla – The Warriors and the Fire squared off today in the final game of the
series. This was the last home game for Webber and they took it to Southeastern defeating them 7-1.
Taylor Layner started on the mound today for the Warriors. He pitched a remarkable game throwing 8 innings giving up 3 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, and struck out 9. The win put Layner at 7-3 on the season.
Daniel Timmons and
Taylor Layner both were 3-4 at the plate on the afternoon.
Daniel Aviles opened up the scoring for the Warriors when he hit a sacrifice fly to right field scoring Timmons in the 5th inning. In the 6th inning Timmons hit a triple to left center scoring
Ramon Sanchez followed by Malcom Smith that hit a SAC fly to left field scoring Timmons. Southeastern then got on the board in the 7th inning with a solo homerun making it a 3-1 game. In the 8th inning the Warriors poured it on and sealed the deal by Layner singling in
Sjaghbar Martis, then with bases loaded,
Brett Kaminski reached on an error by the first baseman and moved to second Timmons, Smith and Sanchez all scored. This brought the game to 7-1 and gave the Warriors the win.
The Warriors still have two games left to play against Keiser University before concluding their season. The games are rescheduled games due to weather earlier on in the year. The date and time is TBD. The Warriors move to 31-18 on the year and 15-7 in Sun Conference play. Go Warriors!!!
