Box Score 2 BABSON PARK, Fla – Webber Baseball took to the field today in the rivalry matchup against the Warner Royals. After the first game being postponed yesterday, they continued today with a double header that found the Warriors winning both.
Brady Mintell took to the mound in the first game throwing 7.2 innings and only giving up 2 runs. He would eventually get the win moving him to 6-0 on the year. Going into the top of the 6th, the Warriors found themselves down 4-5.
Sjaghbar Martis stepped up to the plate and belted a solo homer to tie it up 5-5. It would stay tied up until the top of the 9th, when
Taylor Layner blasted a solo shot for himself giving the warriors a 6-5 lead. Later in the top of the 9th the Warriors found themselves with bases loaded and
Lenin Sanchez stepped into the box. He knocked a single up the middle that scored
Daniel Aviles and
Daniel Timmons. This gave the Warriors an 8-5 lead.
Jose Serrano came in for the Warriors in the bottom of the 9th and earned his 3rd save of the year. The Warriors won 8-5 taking game 1.
Game two started off with a bang as the Warriors put up 4 runs in the 1st inning with
Connor Clayton doubling in 2 runs followed by Malcom Smith tripling in 2 more.
Ryan Labrador started on the mound for the Warriors. Yet again, he threw very well tossing 6 innings allowing 1 run off 5 hits. This gave him the win moving him to 2-0 on the season and in his first two starts.
The Warriors will finish out the series against the rivals of Warner tomorrow at 3 p.m. Come on out and support your team! Go Warriors!!!
