Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla – Webber baseball set out on Saturday to try and take the final game of the series against the # 5 ranked Sand Sharks of South Carolina Beaufort. Unfortunately, after a well fought battle, the Sand Sharks would come out on top 2-5.
In the top of the2nd inning, with runners on second base and third base,
Daniel Timmons fired a single down the right field line that scored both
Taylor Layner and
Connor Clayton giving the Warriors a 2-0 lead.
Ryan Labrador started on the mound for the Warriors making his first start of the season. He threw 5.1 innings, only surrendering 3 hits to the #5 Sand Sharks. After the exit of Labrador, the Sand Sharks found their offense again tallying up 5 runs off of 6 hits to finish out the game 2-5.
It was a tough series for the Warriors to drop; however, they finished the week with a 2-2 record against two top 25 teams. They move on to another non-conference matchup against Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla on Wednesday the 13th of April at 6 p.m.
