Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University baseball welcomed Cornerstone University to Heart of Florida Stadium, Tuesday. The Warriors controlledt he game from the get-go, winning out, 6-2.
Five Warriors registered a hit in the game, with Sjaghbar Martis and Jake Frisosky picking up multiple RBI.
Brady Mintell was the star of the game. Mintell pitched six stellar innings, allowing only one run on two hits and striking out seven. Mintell had a no-hit bid reach late into the fourth inning on his way to a victory.
The Warriors came out fast, taking the lead after one inning of action. Lenin Sanchez leadoff the inning with a walk and promptly stole second. Brett Kaminski drove in Sanchez with a single through the right side. Later in the inning, Connor Clayton brought home Kaminski with a sacrifice fly, putting the Warriors up, 2-0.
Heading into the bottom of the sixth, the Warriors held a narrow, 3-2. Frisosky came up big in the bottom half of the inning with a single up the middle, pushing home two runs, building the Warriors advantage to three runs, 5-2.
A RBI triple from Martis and a strong performance from the Webber International bullpen shut the door on Cornerstone, with the Warriors winning out, 6-2.
