Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University baseball welcomed Indiana University – South Bend to Heart of Florida Field, Tuesday. The Warriors fought back from an early deficit to win out after 10 innings, 5-6.
Derrick Pezon continues to be hot at the plate, going 2-5 with two RBI against the Titans. Seven different Warriors pitched at least an inning, with
Daniel Timmons picked up the win.
All was quiet till Indiana – South Bend ripped off three runs in the top of the fourth. A Titan error in the bottom half inning, cutting Webber International's deficit to 3-1.
Pezon tied the game with one swing of the bat, rocketing a two-run triple to left center after five innings.
The Titans retook the lead in the sixth, 5-3.
The Warriors opened the eight by loading the bases with no outs on the book.
Taylor Layner kicked off the comeback with an RBI single. Timmons then tied the game with a bases-loaded walk, eventually forcing extra innings.
After a scoreless ninth, the Warriors had a chance to take the game in the bottom of the 10th. A single and two intentional walks, loaded the bases for
Daniel Aviles. Aviles promptly delivered a walk off sacrifice fly to deep center, lifting Webber International to a victory, 6-5.
