Women’s Basketball Takes Down Keiser, Pushes Win Streak to Four

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Webber International University women's basketball was on the road, Thursday, taking on Keiser. The Warriors were dominant throughout, powering past the Seahawks, 68-51.

Victoria Baggett led the Warriors with a career-high 14 points. Deslyn Applewhaite was close behind with 13 point, while Jermisha Mcrae and Jessica Colson added 10 points each.

The first quarter saw the Warrior defense limit Keiser to just four points, the best performance of the season. Webber International forced five Seahawk turnovers and registered three steals in the quarter. The offense also played well, giving Webber International a 13-4 advantage.

Keiser's offense got on track in the second quarter, but the Warriors matched them, scoring 21 points. Webber International opened the quarter with a 7-0 run, pushing its advantage to 16 points.

The Seahawks responded with an 11-0 run to cut the Warrior lead to single digits. The two teams would trade baskets for the rest of the quarter, with Webber International going into half up, 34-21.

Baggett kicked off the third quarter with a one-woman 6-2 run, giving the Warriors a 40-23 lead. Webber International's advantage would balloon as high as 21 points and go into the final period ahead, 51-33.

The Warriors would lead by as much as 24 points in the fourth quarter. A late push from Keiser would put a small dent in Webber International's lead, but the Warriors eventually won out, 68-51.
