Warriors Set To Play Nighthawks

11/30/2016 10:37:00 AM

BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Warriors men's basketball team is set to take on Sun Conference foe Thomas University (Ga.).

Webber is coming off a rough thanksgiving weekend road trip. Their road trip ended 0-2 dropping to Dalton State and Wilberforce. They also played a tough NCAA D-II Flagler College in an exhibition matchup that unfortunately did not go their way.

The Warriors however are ready to go as they welcome the visiting Thomas University Nighthawks for the second Sun Conference matchup so far this year. The Sun Conference is incredibly strong so far as it boasts 4 teams nationally ranked. St. Thomas, which the Warriors took on earlier in the year, are ranked 4th in the Coaches top 25. Warner University follows closely ranked 9th overall. Keiser University is ranked 20th and Southeastern University is receiving votes for the top 25. The Warriors have work to do as Conference play will start to heat up. Webber's Daniel Coffey is averaging 18.78 points per game and shooting .564% from the field, which is good enough to land him in the top five of the Conference individual rankings.

Tomorrow, Thursday December 1st, Webber welcomes the visiting Thomas University Nighthawks at 7:30 p.m. located in the Sabbagh Athletic Center. Thomas could be a tough matchup for the Warriors as they both come in 0-1 in conference play. The Nighthawks dropped their lone game to (9) Warner University by a score of 75-76. The Warriors dropped their lone game to (4) St. Thomas University 78-97.
