Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Lady Warrior's soccer team finished off their 2016 season with a Crooked Lake win against their rivals the Warner University Royals with a final score of 2-1.

It was a very tough year for the Lady Warriors as they finished with a 3-9-1 overall record and a 2-7-1 Sun Conference record. However, they ended their season on a high note with a rivalry win over the Warner Royals 2-1.

All three goals in the contest came in the second half of the game. In the 63rd minute it was Warner that got on the scoreboard first. Royals Kristen Isabelle, with the assist from Larissa Campelo, knocked one into the net giving Warner the 1-0 lead. Just 4 minutes later, the Warriors Francesca Mascali found the net tying up the game at 1-1. The 79th minute saw Laura Borders for Webber break the tie off the assist from Janel Ebanks, which would eventually be the game-winning goal.

"I was able to watch these girls play all year and their record in no way reflects the effort or the heart that they took to the field every game. 11 out of their 13 games this season were decided by 2 goals or less. 9 of those 11 games were decided by 1 goal or less. That's how close they were. They played every game with passion and never gave up and I am proud of them." said Kyle Blue the Sport Information Director at Webber International.

The Lady Warriors scored 10 goals throughout the season. 3 of those goals came off the foot of Sydney Bailey, the offensive leader on the year. Sydney had 21 shots and 3 goals overall. 2 of those goals were overtime game winning goals, one each against Johnson & Wales University (Fla.) and NCAA D-II opponent Eckerd college.

Sarah Mckinney, the Keeper for the Warriors, led the Sun Conference for most of the season in saves per game before giving way to Francesca Singleton of Ave Maria University. Sarah finished her year with an 8.08 save average per game, while Singleton took the lead with 8.13 saves per game. Sarah's 8.08 save average was good enough to find the Warriors ranked 27th in the country in NAIA D-I women's soccer.

Great job in the 2016 season Webber! Go Warriors!!!
