10/13/2016 8:27:00 AM

Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. The Webber International University Warrior's men's soccer team took to the field against the Lions of Florida Memorial University. It was a sloppy and rainy day, but an extremely physical and offensive game. Unfortunately for the Warriors, the Lions were able to take the victory 1-2.

The Warriors were the first to strike in the 13th minute as Reiss Liggit took a corner kick that was defected out in front, and then Driss Baraket met the ball with a hard strike that found the back of the net and the Warriors up 1-0. That lead unfortunately did not last very long as the Lions, just 30 seconds later, drove down and tied it up. In the 71st minute, the Lions Franco Soldati found the back of the net as he headed a ball in with Martin Lozano receiving his second assist.

The Warriors put up 17 shots on the day with the Lions having 23 of their own. It was a very physical game, the rain did not help very much, as the Warriors were issued 2 yellow cards and the Lions issued 4 yellow cards.

The Warriors drop to 2-7-1 on the season with a 0-5 Sun Conference record. They now look to play another Sun Conference matchup in Saint Thomas University in their last home game of the 2016 season, on Saturday October 15th at 3:30 p.m. This game can be viewed on the Webber Athletics Stretch Internet Portal at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/webber/
