Women’s Soccer Kicks Off 2015 At Eckerd

BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University women's soccer opens the 2015 season, Sunday, September 13 at 7 p.m. on the road against Eckerd College.

2014 Recap
The Warriors finished 2014 with a 6-9-1 overall record.

After starting the season with three loses, Webber International bounced back in a big way, winning the next three games. The Warriors would score 16 goals in the three games, while also posting three shutouts. Two of the three wins came on the road, against Sun Conference opponents Southeastern and Ave Maria.

The Warriors lost multiple players to graduation, but return experience at key positions.

Senior goal keeper Kayla Henry is back between the posts for Webber International after logging 1,362 minutes and making 105 save in 2014.

Junior Leah Parker returns to lead the Warrior defense is 2015, while junior Phillippa Wilson brings 13 starts into the midfield.

Leading goal-scorer Cierra Abundez returns for her senior season after netting seven goals and adding two assists.

About Eckerd
The Tritons have played two games in 2015, going 1-0-1. Eckerd played to a, 1-1, draw against Colorado Christian to open the season and most recently defeated Southeastern 3-0.

The Triton attack has been balanced thus far, with four different players finding the back of the net. Freshman Alice Wader currently leads Eckerd in points, having scored a goal and notching an assist.
