BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors baseball team took on University of South Carolina- Beaufort Sand Sharks Friday evening.  After a two-hour rain delay, the teams were able to play and the Warriors came out on top 3-1.
 
The two teams were scoreless for 5 straight innings.  In the bottom of the 6^th, the Warriors scored 3 runs.  The teams went scoreless for another 2 full innings. In the top of the 9^th, the Sand Sharks scored 1 run. 
 
Leading the Warriors on the field were: Jacob Lopez with 1 run; AJ Arroyo with 1 run and 1 hit; and Taylor Laynor with 1 run and 2 hits; Ramon Sanchez with 2 hits; and Jacob Lopez with 1 hit.
 
Trevor Jones collected the win for the Warriors pitching staff, pitching 7 innings.
 
The Warriors will return to action on Saturday as they take on the Sand Sharks again in a double-header beginning at 12 p.m.
