BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors baseball team hosted AIB College of Business for a double-header Wednesday starting at 12 p.m. The Warriors lost game one 2-6 but bounced back in game two and won 4-1.
Game 1
The Eagles put up four runs in the opening set, as the first four batters scored. The Warriors answered with one run in the bottom of the first. Both teams were scoreless for two whole innings. The Eagles scored two runs in the top of the fourth and the Warriors scored one run in the bottom of the fourth. Both teams were scoreless for the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings to complete the game.
Kyle Cunningham collected the loss in game one for the Warriors pitching staff and Gavan Cathie collected the win for the Eagles.
Game 2
Into game two, both teams start out with a scoreless first inning, The Warriors score first with three runs in the bottom of the second. The Warriors scored again in the bottom of the fourth with one run, to put the game at 4-0. The Eagles score in the top of the sixth, unanswered by the Warriors. Webber shutdown the Eagles in the seventh inning winning the game 4-1.
Kameron Lockett collected the win in game two for the Warriors pitching staff.
The Warriors record moves to 12-10 overall and remains 4-5 in The Sun Conference.
The Warriors will return to action on Friday, March 6th as they take on Saint Xavier University from Illinois in a double-header, starting at 4 p.m. on Heart of Florida Field.
