BABSON PARK, Fla. -- The Webber International University Warriors baseball team hosted Florida Memorial Lions on Sunday, March 29
th to make up for the game that got rained out on Friday. The Warriors won the game 8-4 over the Lions.
In the first inning the Warriors scored two runs on two hits. The Warriors scored two more runs in the bottom of the second, putting them 4-0 over the Lions. In the top of the sixth, the Lions scored three runs on five hits, unanswered by the Warriors. Both teams were scoreless in the seventh. In the bottom of the eighth, the Warriors extended their lead scoring four runs on one hit. The Lions answered in the top of the ninth, scoring one run.
Leading the Warriors on the field were:
AJ Arroyo with three runs on three hits;
Lenin Sanchez with one run and Taylor Laynor wth one run;
Jesus Villalobos with two hits; Coldy Warren with one hit; and
Taylor Reeves with one hit.
Benjamin Feinman collected the win for the Warriors' pitching staff.
The Warriors record improves to 23-16 overall and 8-10 in The Sun Conference.
Baseball will return to action on Wednesday, April 1
st as they travel to St. Petersburg to face off against Eckerd College Tritons at 6 p.m.
