BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors baseball team joined the Pink Army to strikeout Cancer as they hosted Florida Memorial University Lions in a double-header on Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. The Warriors 8-4 in game one and 6-4 in game two.
Game 1 In game one, the Warriors scored six runs in the bottom of the first. Both teams were scoreless in the second, third, fourth and fifth innings. The Warriors extended their lead with one run in the bottom of the sixth. In the top of the seventh, the Lions scored two runs followed by a two-run home run, narrowing the gap to 7-4 over the Lions. In the bottom of the seventh, the Warriors scored one run. Both teams were scoreless in the eighth inning. In the top of the ninth, the Lions were scoreless, ending the game with the Warriors on top, 8-4

Game 2 In game two, the Warriors scored the first run in the bottom of the first, unanswered by the Lions. The Warriors extended their early lead in the bottom of the second with one run. The Lions answered with one run in the top of the third. The Warriors were scoreless in the bottom of the third. The Lions scored one run in the top of the fourth. The Warriors answered with four runs. In the fifth, the Lions scored two runs on two hits. Both teams were scoreless in the remainder innings.
The Warriors' record improves to 21-16 overall and 15-11 in The Sun Conference.
