Warriors Take Double –Win Over Fighting Saints

BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors baseball team hosted University of St. Francis Fighting Saints in a double-header Tuesday afternoon.  The first game was at 4 p.m. and the Warriors won game one, 15-3.  The Warriors won 11-6 in game two. 
 
 
Game 1
 
In game one the Warriors scored the first runs, including a two-run home-run by A.J. Arroyo on the first pitch.  The Warriors went 6 for 6 in the bottom of the first, going into the second inning on top, 6-0.   Both teams were scoreless in the second inning. In the third inning, the Fighting Saints scored two runs and the Warriors answered with three runs. In the fourth, The Fighting Saints were scoreless and the Warriors scored five runs including a home run by Jesus Villalobos.   In the fifth, the Fighting Saints scored no runs and the Warriors scored one run.  Both teams were scoreless in the sixth inning and in the seventh, the Fighting Saints put the last runs on the board with a single run in the top, unanswered by the Warriors.

Game 2
 
In game two the Fighting Saints scored first, with two runs in the top of the first, unanswered by the Warriors. Both teams were scoreless in the second.  In the top of the third, the Fighting Saints scored two runs on two hits, putting them on top 4-0 into the bottom of the third.  The Warriors answered in the bottom of the third with 9 more runs.  Both teams went scoreless in the fourth inning.  In the top of the fifth, the Fighting Saints score two runs, answered by the Warriors with one run. In the sixth, the Fighting Saints did not score.  The Warriors scored one run in the bottom of the sixth. Neither team scored in the seventh.

The Warriors' record improves to 17-10 overall and remains 4-5 in The Sun Conference.
 
 
The Warriors will return to action on Wednesday, March 11th as they host Holy Cross College Saints from Indiana in a double-header starting at 4 p.m. on Heart of Florida Field.
