Warriors Split Double-Header With Rams, 1-1

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors baseball team hosted Bluefield College Rams for their season opener Saturday afternoon at Heart of Florida Medical Regional Center Field.  The double-header started at 1 p.m. The Warriors won game one, 5-1 and lost 1-9 in game two.
 
GAME 1:
In game one, the Warriors scored first, with two runs made by A.J. Arroyo and Jacob Lopez in the bottom of the first.  The Warriors defense held out for the second inning and in the bottom of the second the Warriors had one run.  The rams scored their first run in the top of the third.  After zero runs in the fourth, the Warriors extended their lead with two runs in the bottom of the fifth, and with no runs in the 6th, the Warriors won the game, 5-1 over the Rams.
 
Sean Stanislawski collected the win for the Warriors pitching staff in game one. 
 
GAME 2:
In game two, the Rams started out with one run in the first, unanswered by the Warriors. In the top of the second, the Rams extended their lead by two with a sacrifice fly RBI by Garrett Schilling.   With still no response from the Warriors, the Rams score another run, giving them a 4-0 lead over the Warriors.  In the bottom of the third, the Warriors score their first run.  The Rams scored three more runs in the top of the fourth, unanswered by the Warriors, 1-7.  After two scoreless innings, the Rams score 2 more runs in the top of the seventh, unanswered by the Warriors, giving the Rams their first win of the season, 1-9. 
  
Trevor Jones collected the loss for the Warriors' pitching staff. 
  
The Warriors' record moves to 4-1 overall. They will return to action on Friday, February 13th as they host Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.  Game time is at 6 p.m.
