No. 24 Football Opens Conference Play Against Edward Waters

BABSON PARK, Fla. – No. 24 Webber International University football welcomes Edward Waters to Legion Field, Saturday, October 11 at 5 p.m. after a bye week.

Last Time Out
The Warriors were last in action, September 26 in an exhibition match against ASA Miami. Webber International defeated the Silver Storm, 24-14, led by Branden Deshields' 100 yards on the ground and Tyson Burch's two forced fumbles.

Webber International's last regular season game was, September 19 against then-No. 8 St. Xavier in Chicago. The Warriors dominated the first half, going in to half time up 26-17.

St. Xavier pushed back in the second half taking its first lead at the end of the third quarter, 31-26. The fourth quarter was tightly contested, seeing the Warriors tie the game at 34-34, 42 second away from forcing overtime. Unfortunately a long kickoff return put St. Xavier in field goal position, which was converted as time expired to hand the Warriors a heartbreaking, 37-34, loss.

The Unstoppable Force
Through four games, Webber International holds a 2-2 overall record. After essentially two weeks off, the Warriors rush offense still ranks among the best in the nation.

The Warriors' 1246 yards on the ground this season ranks No. 10 in the NAIA.

Webber International boasts one of the top rushers in Darius Page, ranked 15th in the nation. Page has racked an 500 yards on the ground and nine touchdowns, while running mate Deshields has rushed for 335 yards off his own.

Junior quarterback Billy Pavlock has also found success on the ground, rushing for 210 yards and four touchdowns.

The Tigers own a 2-4 overall record and a 0-2 record in the Sun Conference.

Edward Waters opened the season with two wins but have since lost four consecutive games. In those four loses the Tigers have surrendered at least 50 points.

The Tigers offense is led by running back Ray Dukes. Dukes has rushed for 333 yards and 3 touchdowns in four games this season. On defense, Edwards Water is led by a trio of players, all registering 25 plus tackles this season.
