BABASON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University women's soccer faced off at home against (RV) SCAD, Sunday, falling to the Bee's, 3-2. Cierra Abundez continued her scoring streak adding two more goals. Abundez has now scored in four of the Warriors six games and netted a total of nine goals for the 2015 seaon.

The Warriors scored the first goal of the match, taking the lead in the 17th minute. Senior Megan Howard played a great ball to a streaking Abundez, who expertly put the ball around the keeper and into the back of the net. Webber International continued to search for a second goal but in the 38th minute, SCAD was able to equalize. At the half the game was tied, 1-1.

The Warriors came out fast in the second half, firing off three dangerous shots early on. Unfortunately Webber International could not find the back of the net and saw a multitude of tight offsides calls kill promising attacks.

SCAD wrestled control of the game late in the second half, scoring two unanswered goals in the space of 10 minutes to go ahead, 3-2. The Warriors stepped up the pressure with time running out, with Abundez scoring their second goal in the 84th minute. Six minutes was not enough for the Warriors to find the late equalizer, losing out to the Bees, 3-2.

Webber International closes out a three-match home stand, Tuesday, October 6 against Nova Southeastern.
