Women’s Soccer Set for Two Sun Conference Matches

BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University women's soccer will play two Sun Conference matches this week as the 2015 season is nearly over. The Warriors first take on Ave Maria on the road, Wednesday, October 21 and then return home to take on Southeastern, Saturday, October 24.

Last Time Out
The Warriors went 1-1 in two matches played in Miami last week. Webber International took Florida Memorial midweek, thrashing the Lions 8-1. They returned to Miami Gardens for a weekend clash with St. Thomas, falling to the Bobcats, 4-2.

The Girl on Fire
Senior forward Cierra Abundez has been fantastic in 2015. Abundez has netted at least one goal in eight of the Warriors 11 games this season, totaling a team-best 15 goals thus far. Abundez netted back-to-back hat tricks to open the season against Eckerd and Johnson & Wales. Abundez has also tallied a team-high four assist. Her 15 goals and four assists account for 47% of the Warriors offensive output this season.

About Ave Maria
The Gyrenes are 5-8 this season and are 1-6 in Sun Conference play. Ave Maria has struggled recently, dropping the last three matches and being shutout in those losses.

The Gyrenes have seen five different players net multiple goals this season, led by senior Anna Koerner's seven.

About Southeastern
The Fire hold an 8-5 overall record and are 3-4 against Sun Conference opposition. Southeastern has split its last four conference matches, most recently falling to SCAD and Thomas.

Senior Bre Eldridge leads the Fire in points with 19, on a team-high eight goals and three assist.
