TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – Webber International University men's soccer opened the week with an out-of-conference road match up with Florida College, Monday. A fast paced game spilled into overtime, with Webber International coming out on top, 3-2.

The Warriors came out fast creating chances early. Ross Clarke saw a strong header sail just past the goal post, nearly putting the Webber International ahead. Later in the half, Ivan Bakovic swung in a free kick that disoriented the Florida College defense. Luka Coporda came up with the ball and played it to Jack Austin who put the ball in the back of the net to give Webber International the, 1-0, lead.

The Falcons fought back after falling behind. The Florida College offense continued to press finally finding an equalizer late in the first half. It was Webber International's turn to respond, taking the offensive as time ran out in the first half. The Warriors had great build up play but could not find the finishing touch, going into halftime tied at 1-1.

Webber International did not let up in the second half, dominating the early goings. Early on, Nail Doherty played in a great corner kick that connected with Ryan Stefan's head. The Falcon keeper was able to get his finger tips to the ball sending the ball over the cross bar and keeping Webber International off the board.

A few minutes later, the Warriors drew a hand ball call in the box, sending Sam Tood to the penalty spot who calmly converted the chance to put Webber International ahead, 2-1.

The Warriors continued to control the game, pinning Florida College in their own half. Again, Webber International continued to create great chance but was unlucky to not build on its lead multiple times. With just minutes left in the match, the Falcons countered off a Warrior corner kick, catching the defense off guard and equalizing late to force overtime.

Overtime did not last long as the Warriors were able to score off thier initial attack. Tim Stanford found himself on the end of a Driss Baraket cross. His header was saved but Stanford kept his composure and finished the rebound opportunity, giving the Warriors a 3-2 victory.

The Warriors are back in action, Wednesday, October 21 when they host Ave Maria.
