BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University women's soccer welcomed Thomas University to Warriors Field, Thursday, taking down the Night Hawks, 4-0. Cierra Abundez continued the blazing start to her season, having a hand in three of Webber International's four goals, scoring one and assisting on two.

The first half was tightly contested, with both teams playing strong defense. The midfield created multiple chances with precise long balls throughout the first half.

In the 43rd minute, Abundez won one of those long balls in the air, putting the ball at the feet of a streaking Jenna Murphy who beat the Thomas keeper one-on-one to break the deadlock. At the half, the Warriors held a narrow, 1-0, lead.

Webber International's offense clicked in the second half, finding the back of the three times. In the 65th minute, Abundez forced the Night Hawks keeper into a full stretch with a dangerous shoot. Megan Howard picked up the rebound in the box and slotted it into the goal, pushing the Warrior advantage to, 2-0.

Six minutes later, Inez, Ordeix played a beautiful long ball to Abundez who chipped a rushing keeper for her first goal of the match. The Warriors shut the door on the Night Hawks in the 89th minute, when Juliana Funtes earned the second goal of her young career after scoring off her own rebound.

The Warriors are back in action, Sunday, October 4 at 1 p.m. against SCAD – Savannah.
