BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors basketball team hosted the Florida Memorial Lions Saturday night at 4 p.m. following the women's game. The Warriors fought to the end and finally won, 80-77.
The Warriors started off slow, trailing at the half, 40-37. The Lions maintained the lead until there was 3:45 left to play. The Warriors then gained the lead for the first time, going 73-72. For the next 3 minutes, it was a back-and-forth battle. With 39 seconds left of play, the game was tied, but the Warriors wanted it more, and came out with the win.
Leading the Warriors on the court were:
Brian Pace with 33 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists;
Dewaine Lyals, with 10 points and 6 rebounds; and Nate Morrell, with 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists.
The Warriors record improves to 6-10 overall and 3-1 in The Sun Conference.
The Warriors will return to action on Wednesday, January 14
th, as they travel to # 13 Northwood University and take on the Seahawks in West Palm Beach at 7 p.m.
