Box Score ATHERTON, CA- Webber International University traveled to Atherton, California to face Menlo College on Saturday, September 27th. After the bye week the Warriors had some time to re-think the path of their season so far; the team coined the phrase "start over at 1-0 this weekend." The Warriors went out and put their thoughts into action this weekend.
Menlo was the first to strike in the matchup, #28 Amje Aboul-Hosn punched in a 5 yard run for an Oaks touchdown. The Warriors answered quickly in the next drive with a 13 yard pass by quarterback #15 Billy Pavlock to wide receiver #88 Rodney Brown. The score would stay deadlocked through the first half as both teams displayed some great defensive battles.
The second half started out good for Menlo, knocking a 34-yard field goal through the uprights in the 3rd quarter by kicker #36 Christian Daog. They added on another touchdown in the 4th quarter with a run by #28 Amje Aboul-Hosn tacking on his second score of the game. With 4:42 left in the game quarterback #15 Billy Pavlock dropped back and launched a 16-yard pass to #22 Isaac Dutes cutting the lead down to 13-17 after a missed extra point. The Warriors defense puffed up its chest and showed its power by shutting down Menlo quickly and forcing a punt. With a minute left in the game yet again it was #15 Billy Pavlock that took the ball and shoved it into the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown run. With a made extra point by the kicker #86 Daniel LeZotte it gave the Warriors the lead 20-17 with only a minute left. Menlo was forced to drive with no timeouts left in the game.
