MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Webber International University Lady Warriors soccer team opened their season in Miami Gardens as they faced off against St. Thomas University at 4:00 p.m. The Lady Warriors lost their season opener with a final score of 3-2 to the Lady Bobcats.
 
The Lady Warriors fought hard in the first half but found themselves down 2-0 at half time. In the second half the Lady Warriors scored twice but the Lady Bobcats scored the go ahead goal winning the game 3-2.
 
Leading the Lady Warriors on the field were: Cierra Abundez with two goals on five shots and Laura Borders collected one assist and took three shots. Kayla Hanel collected four saves in goal for the Lady Warriors during the game.
 
The Lady Warriors record falls to 0-1 overall. The Lady Bobcats record improves to 2-1 overall.
 
The Lady Warriors return to action this Friday, August 29^th on Warriors Field as they host College of St. Mary for their home opener starting at 5:00 p.m.
