Warriors Fall to Southeastern 5-3 in Round One of The Sun Conference Baseball Championships

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Webber International University baseball team traveled to Fort Myers to participate in The Sun Conference Baseball Championships. The Warriors seeded fifth faced off against the second seeded Fire from Southeastern in round one. Southeastern won the game 5-3 over Webber.
 
Webber put the first run on the board in the top of the second inning as they scored one run. In the bottom of the fourth inning the Fire tied the game scoring one run. The Warriors regained the lead in the top of the sixth inning scoring another run. In the top of the eighth inning Webber extended their lead scoring their last run of the game. In the bottom of the eighth inning Southeastern scored four runs to win the game 5-3 over the Warriors.
 
Leading the Warriors on the field were: Chris Suto going two for five at the plate scoring one run; Shae Cothran going two for five at the plate with one RBI; Trip Merrell hit two for four at the plate scoring one run; Austin AuBuchon scored one run; Dylan Price hit two for four at the plate with one RBI.
 
Josh Ganus threw all innings for the Warriors pitching staff giving up five runs on 12 hits with two strikeouts.
 
The Warriors will return to action tomorrow as they take on the number 6th seed Warner University starting at 11 a.m. with the loser of the game eliminated from The Sun Conference Baseball Championships.
