ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Webber International University softball team played their last regular season games as they traveled to St. Petersburg to take on Eckerd College Lady Tritons in a doubleheader, starting at 5 p.m. The Lady Warriors lost both games, ending their season 14-26 overall.
In the opener, the Lady Tritons put the first four points on the board in the bottom of the first and extended their lead by three in the bottom of the second. The Lady Warriors answered with single runs in the top of the fourth, fifth and seventh innings, but ended up losing the first game of the night, 3-7.
Leading the Lady Warriors on the field in game one were: #12
Francesca Magliocchetti going two for four at the plate with one RBI; #7
Jennifer Hamil going one for four at the plate with one run; and #18
Jasmine Rodriguez going two for three at the plate, scoring two runs.
Naomi Spurgeon collected the loss for the Lady Warriors pitching staff.
In game two, Eckerd scored a run in the bottom of the first and three runs in the bottom of the third. Webber answered with a single run in the top of the fourth, answered by a run in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings. The Lady Warriors scored one run in the top of the seventh, but lost game two with a final score of 2-6.

The Lady Warriors end their season 14-26 record and 3-13 in The Sun Conference. They will return to action next season.
