Warriors Takedown Lions 14-4

MIAMI, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors baseball team traveled to Miami to take on conference opponent Florida Memorial. The Warriors won game one of the conference series over the Lions 14-4 in eight innings.
 
Webber put the first runs on the board in the top of the first inning scoring two runs. The Lions answered in the scoring one run in the bottom of the first. In the top of the third the fourth inning the Warriors scored four runs gaining a five run lead. In the bottom of the fifth inning the Lions responded scoring three runs cutting Webbers lead to two runs. In the top of the sixth inning Webber scored three runs to regain the five run lead. The Warriors ended the game in the eighth as they scored five runs and shutdown the Lions winning 14-4.
 
Leading the Warriors on the field were: Chris Suto went two for five at the plate scoring three runs and had four RBI's; Cody Warren went four for five at the plate scoring three runs with two RBI's; Ramon Sanchez went two for four at the plate scoring two runs and had two RBI's; and Austin Aubuchon went three for four at the plate with two RBI's and one run.
 
Josh Ganus collected the win for the Warriors' pitching staff throwing all eight innings. Ganus only allowed four runs on six hits with six strike outs.
 
The Warriors record improves to 25-24 overall and 10-12 in The Sun Conference.
 
Webber returns to action on Saturday, April 12th as they finish their conference series against Florida Memorial starting at 12:00 noon.
