Warriors Win Two Over St. Francis University

BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors baseball team hosted St. Francis University Fighting Saints Thursday afternoon and won both games.

The teams first finished out Wednesday night's rained out game, tied 3-3 in the bottom of the 7th inning. With the game still tied 3-3 after 9 full innings, the game went into extra innings. In the top of the 12th St. Francis finally broke the tie with 2 runs. Webber answered back scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 12th, taking the win 7-6 over the Fighting Saints.

Jonah Davis collected the win for the Warriors' pitching staff.

Leading the Warriors on the field were: #15 Chris Sutto with 3 hits, 1 run; pinch hitter, #29 Ryan O'Gara with 2 hits, 1 run and 1 RBI; #14 Shae Cothran with 3 hits, 2 runs and 2 RBI's; #13 Ramon Sanchez with 1 hit, 1 run and 1 RBI; #34 #5 Austin Aubuchon with 1 hit and 1 RBI; #44 Tripp Merrell with 1 hit; #21 Chad Buckley with 2 hits; and pinch hitter #42 Dylan Price with 1 hit and 1 run.

In game to Webber put 4 runs on the board in the bottom of the 1st inning and scored again in the bottom of the 3rd inning, 7-0. The Warriors went unanswered into the top of the 9th, allowing the Warriors to collect their 2nd win of the night, 7-0.

Leading the Warriors on the field for game two were: #15 Chris Suto with 3 hits and 1 run; pinch hitter, #29 Ryan O'Gara with 1 run; #22 Cody Warren with 1 hit and 1 run; #14 Shae Cothran with 1 hit, 2 runs and 1 RBI; #34 Austin Aubuchon with 1 hit, 1 run and 2 RBI's; #9 Jason Anderson with 2 hits, 1 run and 1 RBI; #21 Chad Buckley with 1 hit and 1 RBI and #13 Ramon Sanchez and #5 Lane Crosson both with one hit.

The Warriors improve their record 13-12 overall and University of St. Francis falls to 7-10 overall.

The Warriors will return to action on Friday, March 7th as they host Spring Arbor starting at 6 p.m.
