WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Webber International University men's tennis team upset the #21 ranked Northwood University squad 6-3 in West Palm Beach. The Warriors jumped out to a 2-1 lead in doubles. The Warriors lost at #1 doubles, but evened the match when
Jonathan Cohen and
Rodrigo Santibanez pulled out an 8-6 win at #2. Then, the #3 team of Niklas Kammer and
Firmiano Filho won 8-4 at #3 to take the 2-1 lead.
The Warrior's netters put the match away by winning four of the six singles matches. The winning players for the Warriors were: #1 singles – Niklas Kammer, 7-5, 6-4; #3 singles –
Mislav Colak – 6-2, 7-6(4); #4 singles – Rodrigo Santibenez, 6-4, 7-6(8); and #5 singles – Justus Klocke, 6-2, 3-6, 11-9.
The Warriors improved their record to 9-6 overall for the year. The next match for the Warriors is with SCAD – Savannah in Jacksonville, Florida.
