BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors baseball team traveled to Northwood University in a conference series. The Warriors won game one with a final score of 12-9 and improve to 20-21 overall and 6-10 in The Sun Conference.
Webber put the first run on the board in the top of the first inning. Then in the top of the second and third innings the Warriors scored two runs in each inning. Northwood responded in the bottom of the third scoring their first run. In the bottom of the fourth the Seahawks scored two more runs to bring the Warriors within two, 5-3. In the bottom of the fifth Northwood scored one more to come within one run. The Warriors responded in the top of the sixth inning scoring two runs. In the top of the eighth inning the Warriors rallied to score five runs. Northwood scored two runs in the eighth inning and one in the ninth. The Warriors won 12-9 over the Seahawks.
Josh Ganus collected the win for the Warriors' pitching staff.
Leading the Warriors on the field were:
Dylan Price going three for five at the plate scoring two runs and had four RBI's;
Shae Cothran went two for five from the plate scoring two runs and one RBI;
Austin Aubuchon went three for five at the plate scoring one run with two RBI's;
Lane Crosson going three for four with two runs and one RBI; and
Chris Suto going two for five with one run and RBI.
The Warriors return to action on the road on Saturday, March 29
th against Northwood University starting at 12:00 p.m.
