Warriors Fall to Royals in Conference Series But Split Double-Header, 1-1

Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors baseball team traveled across Crooked Lake to face Warner University.  The Warriors won the first game with a final score 7-1 only to see the Royals win the second, 10-7.
 
The Warriors put the first run on the board in the top of the seventh inning of game one.  Then in the top of the eighth inning, Webber extended their lead with 6 more runs.  Warner responded in the bottom of the eighth with a single run.  With no runs in the ninth inning, the Warriors won the game, 7-1.
 
Leading the Warriors on the field in game one were: Ramon Sanchez going one for three at the plate scoring one run and one RBI. Chris Suto going one for four and scoring one run; Trip Merrell going one for five at the plate scoring one run and two RBI's; pinch hitter, Cody Warren going one for two scoring a run for the Warriors; also, Chad Buckley going two for three at the plate and scoring two runs; and pinch hitter, AJ Arroyo going one for one at the plate, scoring one run and three RBI's.
 
Sean Stanislawski collected the win for the Warrior's pitching staff.
 
In game two, Warner started off fast scoring one run in the bottom of the first, second, and third innings.  Webber responded in the top of the fourth inning with one run and Warner extended their lead in the bottom of the fourth with five more runs.  The Warriors scored five more runs in the top of the fifth inning with no runs for either team in the sixth or seventh inning. Both teams scored 2 runs in the eighth inning. The game ended in the bottom of the ninth with a final score of 10-7.
 
Leading the Warriors on the field in game two were: Chris Suto going two for six at the plate scoring one run; pinch hitter Ryan O'Gara going one for two scoring one run; Shae Cothran going one for four scoring one run; Austin Aubuchon going two for four scoring two runs and three RBI's; and Dylan Price going one for four scoring one run and one RBI.
 
Rob Lane collected the loss for the Warrior's pitching staff.
 
The Warriors will return to action on March 26 as they travel to Melbourne to face off against Florida Tech at 2 p.m.
